Love it! It’s the cutest!!! And the hat just makes it even more special!
I give you Gramps!
This is gramps from Tin Can Knits. They offered a free pattern at the end of the year and I have always admired this one. With two great-nephews to knit for, I am now on the look out for boy things. This one will get repeated for GN #2. He has the same hat, so I just might get more Vintage to make another. But I will make mods, no provisional cast on at the neck. I just prefer my necks to have stability. Live sts do not provide that. So, just cast on and knit. And then pick up sts for the collar. And, pick up more sts along the V-neck. I think I should have done 5 for 6 in stead of 4 for 5.
To make it even more gramps like, I had to get the faux leather buttons. Too cute! The little one will be coming to visit in less than a week, so I am hoping to get photos of him wearing it. Too bad I can’t get the yarn and make the 2nd one in time for them both to model together. For sure they will be modeling the hats I made them.
Next on the needles is Milkweed Capelet and Drops 0-684. Milkweed for me, glad I just got the errata notice on it, and the baby sweater for an online friend’s babe. Milkweed is being made with my luscious Lana D’Oro in a deep purple. The sweet sweater is being made with Debbie Bliss Baby Cashmerino in a deep purple. Who knew I liked purple?
I am hoping this year I can keep the mojo going and not bottom out from April to July! If I can choose good patterns that don’t end up frustrating me, I should be good. That means staying away from pseudo designers. If they don’t have a proven record, with good techniques, keep away from them.
So, it’s the same old, same old, Tami’s for FOs, Wondergal for Fibers!

What a wonderful cute cardigan! And I love the hat with it. The baby who is recieving this is going to look quite adorable.
Great job!
Adorable! I love the buttons and the hat. They really make the sweater a complete outfit:)
The sweater is really lovely, I like the green and the buttons. They are like little socker balls!
Thanks for coming by my blog! Greetings from Germany! Sabine.
Awe, love it….. I used to have a Grandpa Sweater. I finally wore it out a few years ago.
That is just too cute, the buttons really do say, “gramps”
I love this pattern, too! I made it for my nephew for Christmas (it’s in my blog post today). It’s totally to die for.
Love the green color!
SQUEE! There’s nothing better than a baby dressed like an old man! This is adorable. And, I love the buttons. They complete the whole look.
Looking fabulous! Those are going to be some seriously cute kids in their matching sweater.
How adorable….hoping you’ll be posting pics with the little gentleman wearing them. That Milkweed caplet is going to be lovely.
Can’t wait to see it on a little model!
