First off, go and make this recipe. You will not be sorry! Taking this along to knitting this morning. Since we are no longer knitting at a bistro, but in a knitting shop, we don’t have a catered breakfast anymore. I miss that. So, I thought, old bananas, new berries, and all the fixings in the pantry, so why not. The only thing I didn’t have was buttermilk. But I don’t think it matters.
Now, on to the WIPs. After spending my morning in Mt Vernon teaching a class at the Modern Ewe I came away with too much yarn. So, I need to knit it up! 2 balls of Mini Mochi are for a shop sample, so I got on it right away. Another Wingspan, since it’s so fresh in my mind.
Rainbow Trout #308
I love the colors shading through this skein, and at first I thought it was ugly. Much prettier knit up. And I am sure it looks nothing like it does in real life on your monitor. 1/2 way through first ball and 1/4 way through the pattern. I should have enough in 2 balls.
I also got right on one of the hats I need to have done soon. This is a plain ribbed watch cap, same pattern I used for the one I knit for the soldiers charity collection. This is through the 1st ball of Liberty Wool. I will only need half of the next skein. Not sure what I will do with the remainder. Maybe do a preemie hat? I also have some leftover Liberty from my Wingspan. It might be enough for a preemie hat too.
So, these knits take the place of Milkweed for the moment. I am through 2 skeins on it and have the 3rd ready to be wound. Just waiting on a spare moment. Which I have had little of lately. Monday and Tuesday involved errands and helping at a school fundraiser. And Tuesday involved locating runaway dogs and then giving them two showers to remove the stink and grime from their frolic. I do believe they went swimming in one of the golf course lakes. Oy! Sure hope my uncle wasn’t around to see them run amok on his golf course. We might get thrown out of the neighborhood! LOL.
OK, time for you to see who else has something in the works. Check out Tami’s for the proof!

The recipe looks delicious!
I love the way the Wingspan is knitting up. The colors are gorgeous!
The wingspan looks amazing .
Here’s my WIP: http://mibruno.com/en-proceso-75/
The way those colors are coming out is really neat. Very methodical, like you planned it!
Thanks for the recipe. I always have ripe bananas and blueberries on hand. The Rainbow Trout Wingspan is looking wonderful. I must get my hands on some Mini Mochi, such beautiful colors!
Really like the colors of the wingspan! Very pretty. I’ll go take a look at the recipe, thanks for sharing. If you don’t have buttermilk there is a substitution for regular milk: 1 tablespoon of vinegar or lemon juice and enough milk to make 1 cup= 1 cup of butter milk. I have had to do this substitution before and it works fine.
