There’s been some finishing and some procrastinating. So this is still on the needles.
Body is done and now I have to attack ends. And there are sooooo many ends! Sleeve seams to sew. Button bands to knit on. Buttons to sew. And I just don’t want to! Why? Because of fear. But it looks good. But I am not sure it will be right. Right size, right length, right neck height. Right anything! This is what comes from cobbling things together. You wonder and worry. So, today at knitting I will be measuring and comparing to see if the thing will fit a baby of some size.
And when I get this one done, I will be using the colors to the right to make a boy’s version for the twin brother. Picked up some buttons that match the colors perfectly! I had some leftover from another sweater for the girl’s version, but I am thinking I will be going back to look again. These might be too red and not pink enough. Wish the ones for the boy were a bit smaller, but I am going with these for now. I am planning to only sew buttons from the neck down to chest level.
The button bands will be garter and use the contrast color to edge. I am low on the dark color, so fingers crossed I can get the buttonhole band out of it and then I will do the button band with the lighter garter edged in the darker bind off. Berroco is sending me a new skein of the lighter color. Why? Because of this!
See that above there to the right? To the left are the two strands where I had to add a new yarn. Why? Cause of the snipped knot on the right hand side. Oh, and what’s that next to the snipped knot? Another knot! Not a lot of distance between the 2nd and 3rd knots. Oh, that’s right. There was a knot within the first yard of the skein! 3 knots in 1 skein!! Now, I had 4 knots in 4 skeins of Kureyon. But that’s what I expect in Kureyon and it’s not gonna change. But this is the first time I have ever had an issue with a Berroco yarn. And then I had an issue with 2 Liberty Wool skeins! It’s just not been my month for knots. Oh well, it’s not a deal ender.
Now, check out the crew at Tami’s and see if anyone else has had the same issues. Knots, procrastination, or finishing. Oh, my finishes? You’ll have to come back on Friday. They don’t call it FO Friday for nothing!

I love the pink stripey sweater. But I hear you on weaving in all those ends! Good look assembling this
I love the stripes! I bet you’ll have it done in no time:)
I love stripey cardis! It’s looking great.
The girl’s version is looking great! I love the colors of the stripes. Hopefully the finishing touches won’t be too tedious. Knots are so annoying to deal with, especially when you see more than two in a skein. That is very good of Berroco to send you a replacement.
