Today the Work In Progress is setting up a college dorm suite. I would say it brings back memories, but I only had a small room I shared with a roommate. College Girl, it’s official now, has a suite she will share with 3 other girls. 2 girls per bedroom. There is a shared common area between the bedrooms. What a great way to start college! There is a kitchen area for a micro and small fridge with cabinets for storage. Each bedroom has it’s on bathroom. How I would have loved that! This is one floor of a dorm that is designated for the honors level students. Nice pay off for all those years of hard work
We are hoping to make it a homey and comfortable place for her to spend the next year. With grandmother’s couch and rug in the common room it will be comfy. With her blanket made by mom it will be homey. We have bought personal items, bedding, knick-knacks, snacks, and sundry items. I am sure we forgot something vital, light bulbs for her desk lamp come to mind. The van is almost packed to the ceiling and her jeep will catch the rest that can”t fit in my van. We are as ready as we can be.
I, however, am not at all ready! During church on Sunday the pastor prayed for the kids, of all ages, going back to school and then the parents for the kids going off to school. I was tearing up then!! We have already set limits, OK, SHE set limits, on how many times a week I can facetime her. Once a week and only if there are no roommates about! LOL.
I will leave you with a collage I made. We had a send off party with the family to say goodbye. I put some wallet sized photos from past years on the table. Here are some of my favs.

Wow, such an exciting time! Must be bittersweet to have her leave the nest though 🙂
Best of luck with this!…..I can still remember the pit of my stomach as my parents drove away after dropping me off at college. I wish your new college kid well!
I hope that the move and set-up went smoothly. What a beautiful collage of pictures! Count yourself lucky to have once a week facetime visits 🙂
