I can’t believe I am already done with the piecing. After I finished the Rue d’Osage items I had nothing to sew which required leaders/enders. So I just focused on the OYGWE top. In no time I had the borders on and it is now tucked away in the closet waiting for quilting. With the 9 other various sized tops! One of these days.
Friday was spent finishing all the 3.5″ Nine Patch blocks. Then Saturday was spent sewing them into Double Nine Patch blocks with the 2 orange fabrics. I laid them out on the sewing room floor to get the placement set, and didn’t change too much about the arrangement. Taking photos helps me keep track of where things are supposed to go once I pick them up off the floor!
So I must say, I am very pleased with the colors now that the entire thing is done. It really just needed the entire piece to show well. The lighter shade is exactly what I envisioned, so glad I kept with it. The piece measures about 54″x61″ with fabric pre-washed. Hoping after the quilting and final wash I end up with at least 52″x59″? Quilting? Don’t even ask, I have no clue what I am doing with it.
I hope everyone had a good Mother’s Day. We celebrated with Diva and her Beau, my sister, and 5 dogs! This one contributed to a lot of the chaos.
Mac is at the Dr’s. It’s a basic $250 price tag just to get him working again. For another $150 they would “recover” my data, assuming it’s lost or missing. I declined that offer. I will see what the last back up had on it, but I fear that was at least a year ago. I am not very good at backing it up! I will be better from now on. I will try to find a friendly person to attempt to retrieve the data from the old hard drive. I have already looked at online videos to see what my options are. It looks to be a lot easier than $150!!! Fingers crossed it’s not as bad as feared.
