A wealth of knitting is happening, but so is yarn buying!!

Seems my knitting mojo has returned with a lot of gusto. But then buying has too!

I forgot to show the squares I started for my Great-Nephew’s blanket #4, when you are knit worthy, you are knit worthy! 2 done so far, and about 7 more to go. Unless I decide to make it bigger, going for a 3×3 block layout. I plan to make letter blocks to spell out his name, but not sure how to arrange them. Unless I just use his initials, and then it’s easy to do.

This was my view during the England/Croatia game, sadly England lost. Sniff, sniff.

The blanket seaming is progressing well. Almost halfway done, and then it will need some edging rounds. Not looking forward to that. It will be soooo big! I might just do crochet so I don’t have to have too many needles picking up sts.

At first I was picking up sts along several edges with both ends of the skein, and then 3 needle bind off. I ended up picking up down the side of one square and then along the edge of the other back to the beginning and then 3 needle bind off. Like this:

None of the photos has the true sense of the colors. Not as pale as the first and last, not as blue as the middle

And what’s all that pink and coral in that shot up there? The new stuff. 5 skeins of Universal Uptown Worsted. It’s so soft!! And for a 100% Acrylic yarn, I am amazed it isn’t scratchy or rigid at all. The pink is the start of a baby sweater, 6-12 month size. I am cobbling numbers, cabling, and shape from 3 different patterns. Fingers crossed it all works out! Baby is due in a few weeks. Eek! I had one sweater done, and Diva went to see her Beau’s cousin’s new baby, and of course she had no gift, so I sent it on with her. Sans buttons. LOL! She had to sew them on, but only got one on before losing the needle in the car. Pattern is Tiered Baby Coat.

So now I have 1 sweater in the works, and 2 more to get done by mid August.
Not even going to try.

I hope your mojo returns too, but you have some distractions that need to be considered, hope your husband is getting better. Croatia is thrilling to watch. I so feel for their captain, Modric, he had such a harrowing childhood, and was told he wasn’t good enough for soccer!!! Showed those naysayers! > >

      > Thank you. The thing about buying is, I still have close to 60,000 yards of yarn in my stash!!! But nothing much appropriate for babies. That’s my story and I’m sticking to it. LOL!!! >

Hi Chris! I just love that red for your great-nephew’s blocks. And that baby sweater is just too sweet. I’m sure that Beau and the new baby will adore that little sweater you sent along with Diva! Happy Thursday! ~smile~ Roseanne

Thank you, I know crochet is faster, but I hate to crochet! Since the babe is coming soon, and we won’t have cold temps until Dec, I am doing 6 months. But 13 cables tend to make it slow going!! LOL

Lots of lovely colors! I really like the one you are using for your nephew. I almost succumbed to a beginning knitting class a week from tomorrow. Then I realized I would probably wind up with a huge stash of yarn and no time for knitting much!

LOL! That’s kind of what happened to me with the sewing! I gave up a ton of fabric when I stoped sewing ages ago, and then when I started back, I have just added more and more! I have never added the previous fabric stash to the numbers I am running, and I have already bought close to 100 yards since January! I gotta stop. Or start sewing faster. > >
