Not much going on

I have been stymied by all attempts to sew. Knitting is happening, but not much progress is being made on any 1 item. 3 projects on the go right now and not enough time to address each of them. Baby sweater is almost done on body, then sleeves and edgings. Diva’s blanket is stalled on seaming. G-NC’s blanket is still at 2 squares. But I did make a baby hat!

Leftover Ella Rae Superwash and I am afraid that darkest purple is a non superwash. Oh well, it might see one use before being washed and it felts at the base. I am just not in a caring mood right now.

Being dogged by the blahs and I don’t know how to break out of it. 1st thing I am going to try is cutting out as much sugar as I can from my diet. I am a Mt Dew junkie, so this will be hard. Will try to switch to tea with frozen peaches as my “sweetener”. I need caffeine in the morning, so I gotta have something! And juices, even though I know they have sugars in them, I will just try to hit the ones with less sugar? I am not a water only kind of person, but I drink about 16-20 ozs a day, so there is opportunity to up that amount. I just really do not take in that much liquid daily. I am a sipper, not a guzzler.

And maybe try to get my sleep patterns more consistent. I am a night owl, so that doesn’t help. But I have to try something. I need my energy and happiness levels to spike up!!

Off to the fair today to see how my entries did. I do know this pillow took Grand Champion. Our neighbor sent Hubster a pic of the pillow with it’s ribbon.

    I am sorry you are struggling with the blahs. Me too – I don’t really feel like sewing, and haven’t been sleeping well. How cool that your pillow took Grand Champion!!! I can’t wait to hear how your other entries did. Maybe a fair visit will up your fun level and hence your mojo. If not, we all know it will return eventually. Right?!! ~smile~ Roseanne

      I know it will pass, just need to up my recognition of blessings and decrease my worries. But the worries part is hard!

    Congratulations on the pillow! Be sure to take photos! I bet your items did great:)
    I’m with you on the blahs. I’m hoping vacation will turn things around even for a few days. I’m tired and eating excess sugar too. Have you tried freezing fruit and dropping that into your water? It will add flavor as it melts.

      I do that with peaches and tea, but I am not a fan of barely fruity water. LOL! I am a fan of ice cold water and could drink my fill, but once it warms, nope. > >

    Dear Chris, good luck with the blahs. I’m cheering you on. I think you seem pretty aware and positive in your attempts to alleviate some of the buh from the blahs. haha. Just a theory (so take it with a grain of salt, I realize you know yourself) but I am hoping reducing the sugar a little, getting yourself on a more manageable sleep routine (even if it’s late, maybe consistent w/the sleep/wake times?) will maybe help you feel more energized. Personally I’m like a child and benefit from routine, no matter how flexible or easy going I try to envision myself. Yeah, No. I am a child of habit — which also means all my bad ones are really hard to break! LOL

    It’s summer, and it’s hot, blahs are normal. However, I would worry more about the amount of caffeine in that Mountain Dew than the sugar! I’m a no-caffeine person – at all, none, not any. It’s easier than you think when you are addicted to sugar and caffeine. You just have to get over that initial hump, and you’ll feel lots better and more energetic. Good luck to you!

      Knowing how much Caffeine is in it I only allowed myself 1 can in the am, none after 2:00. I’d never sleep then!!! 😂😂

    I am glad you won for the pillow! The changes you make in your diet are good for you even if you don’t have the blahs! The baby hat is so pretty! (even if it is a ticking time bomb! lol)
