A Not Necessarily Clutch Wallet

I used the pattern for the body but omitted the flap so I could attach a Diva Wallet frame. So while it is technically a NCW, it’s not necessarily a NCW. Make sense? No, not to me either! LOL

I used a pretty border print for the outer body, just love the look, but I realize in my OCD brain that I should have put the motif flowers up instead of down. This would have meant cutting and resewing to get the motifs right side up and allow for the pattern to fit the FQ properly. But it’s not a big deal for BioGirl, so no reason to stress overmuch. In trying to use just 3 FQs, cause I didn’t have a 4th coordinating fabric, I had to use 2 different prints for the pocket linings. It’s also not a big deal, just being frugal and using up what I have. I could probably make a zippered pouch from the remaining fabric just to use it up. Hmm, another project to add to the list! Maybe a make-up bag for BioGirl to match her wallet?

I hope she loves it as much as she said she will. Her comment to me after sending her photos was “You’re so talented”. Aw, what a wonderful thing to hear from your child. I don’t think I am any more talented than the next person, it’s just that my passions run to fiber and all related crafts. I am very lacking in the green thumb area, or the CEO realm. But that’s OK, if my hands are dirty I can’t sew or knit, and if I was a CEO I would have time for the crafting!!

So, what has your crafting brought to you lately? Thanks and love from a family member? Appreciation from a charity you made items for? Applause from your crafting friends? Ribbons of recognition from a county fair or craft show? Share all the wonderful accolades you have received, we want to hear about them!

Your Not Clutch is really cute! Great things indeed to hear from your daughter! I am like you not CEO smart but I love what I do-being creative and oh yes the wonderful comments people leave on the blog just gotta make ya smile from ear to ear!!

I agree with you about not all having the same talents. When someone brings up abilities I like to say that we are all good at something and if it was the same thing life would be very boring. It takes all of our various talents to make this wonderful world. Oh my, it surely does make a mom happy when her kids like her stuff. My oldest has started requesting homemade items, which I take as a huge compliment.

I wouldn’t have even noticed the flowers had you not mentioned it, and even then, I think it still looks good! My biggest accolade? When my projects make people happy. That’s it. Of course, I do like that my family is my biggest cheering section 🙂

She is going to LOVE this! I love that the inside sections do not have the same lining in all of them. I’m always in aww of hand made wallets and clutches. I can’t even get a basket to sew up correctly 🙂

Hi Chris! Upside down?? I had to go back and look! No one else on earth is ever going to notice that. If someone says something – which they won’t – you daughter can say she was carrying it upside down. My original comment was going to be how lovely you used that border fabric to really make it shine. You are very talented, and it is thrilling to hear DD recognizes that. If we all had the same talents or interests nothing would get done! Everyone would be sewing. Even typing that makes me laugh! No one reading, no one blogging (!!), well you get it. Great job! Happy Monday, friend! ~smile~ Roseanne
