Wow, what a wonderful year it’s been! A few changes in our lives, most for the good, but one small sad; BioGirl heading off to Grad School (sniff sniff), I joined a quilt guild (yippee!), 5 new nieces/nephews by marriage (awesome!), a new baby coming in the family (can’t wait!), new sewing machines!! (sweet), and a wonderful trip to Colorado with Hubster (gorgeous!). Here’s to 2019, may it be just as thrilling!
So, my yearly recap of the favs is due. Out with the old?
I started the year endeavoring to make 1 table topper a month. I did fairly well through most of the year, but the last 3 months have been slackers! It’s hard to choose a fav, but I do believe Grandma’s Sewing Basket is my fav of them all!
Of the larger projects I tackled this year I would have to say this unquilted Orange Your Green is my fav. I can’t wait to get it long armed so I can use it in the guest bedroom.
In the sewing department I would say this case was my absolute FAVORITE! It went off to live in Kentucky with a friend battling breast cancer. I wanted to bring a smile to her face.
In the knitting department I choose to play along with Maggie and do 52 Hats in 52 Weeks. While I didn’t technically knit 1 hat a week, I did finish the goal by the end of the year. Of all those hats, this one is my fav! Mostly because of the wonderful friend it was gifted to. She bought one of my Rudolph hats years ago and has faithfully worn it every winter. It was time for a new hat. When the Winking Fox turned out too big for a kid I knew it would go to her. Isn’t she adorable!
In other knitting I was so happy to finish knitting this poncho for me!!
My adaptation of Indigo Frost.
In Baby things, this sweet cardigan and matching hat take my heart!
And finally, my favorite purchase this year? Hands down, my new sewing machine!!
and a new-to-me (used) spare sewing machine!
It’s been a very good year!
