2019 Knitting Challenge

Since I am making all kinds of plans, it’s only fitting I talk about my knitting plans for 2019. This is a loose plan, not sure how it will flow, so I am just putting it on paper. I will adapt as needed through the year.

First up: 2 head/neck wear items a month. I have a running list of 12 hats and 12 cowls, actually only 7-9 on each list right now, but I will add as I find candidates. 5 of those hats will be for the Great-N’s for their Christmas Hats. I think I am doing Nordic style for them this year. So the plan is to do 1 hat and 1 cowl a month. Then at the end of the year I will have some cowls and hats to gift at Christmas!

Knitting Challenge: 12 items in my queue that I want to knit this year.

  1. Slippers for BioGirl
  2. Slippers for her Car Beau
  3. Toddler sweater for Mak
  4. Baby sweater for Aub
  5. Felted Pressing Mat using up leftover wools
  6. Finish Connor’s Blanket Squares
  7. Fallen Cloud Shawl for me
  8. Humulus Sweater for me
  9. Strange Brew Cardigan for me
  10. Snowfling Mittens for me
  11. Baby sweater for my 2nd cousin’s 4th baby due in June
  12. Finish Cable Shawl by turning it into a poncho

3 of those items are already cast on and just need to be done. But Fallen Cloud might get a rethink. The yarn is hairy, so the pattern might not work with it. Plus, I messed it up at the beginning, even though you can’t tell. We will see if it gets ripped. Hopefully by the end of 2019 I will have some sweaters/items for me and gifts for others.

That’s a great knitting list – but I wish I hadn’t seen it. I just added 2 more sweaters to my Ravelry que. I really, really need to stop looking at what others are planning to knit and focus on my own list. Happy New Year! (And thanks for the sweater recommendations. They are both gorgeous!)
