Today is Guild and I am so excited! We are doing a little different show and tell today. We were asked to bring our first*, or as close to as possible, quilt and our latest quilt. For me this created a dilemma, because one of my latest quilts is actually one of my oldest! Yes, Feathered Star fits in both categories. It was pieced back in the late 1990’s, but quilted in 2019. So, it works for both, but which do I use it for!!! Since it’s not my quilting I think I am going to leave it off of the list. I will take this wall hanging I did for my MIL which was returned to me when she downsized. Machine pieced and hand quilted.
And for my recent project I will take my mini, Peach Fuzz, machine pieced and quilted by me. Or, I could take Scrap Jar Stars? Another machine pieced and quilted project, but it’s a year old, so is it really a latest piece? I can’t decide!
I will have to write a list to remember all the things I need to take with me! Name tag, $1.00 donation for the church we meet at, show and tell, sock donation for charity, pillowcase donations, BOM, money for April workshop, am I missing anything? Probably. Oh yes, my Challenge fabric! I changed my mind. I decided this first choice was too dear to give up control of, so I chose this set. This last year I seem to be all about teal/aqua/lime colors. It needs to be used up not hoarded! LOL Wait, isn’t there something about sparking joy? Well, it all sparks joy, otherwise I wouldn’t have bought it. But some spark more joy than others? And that’s why I am saving my first choice and putting it back in the
hoard, I mean, stash.
So, what does your Monday look like? Knitting, quilting, sewing, surfing?
*Gah! No we weren’t. We are supposed to bring our first and last quilts in March! Today was for a wonderful fiber artist’s lecture. I need a brain some weeks.
