A new WIP has entered the ring and it’s just about driven me crazy! I have wanted to make Titch for a long time. It finally made its way to the cutting mat, and promptly confused the brain that was already struggling after a weekend visit from the Portia!
So, Titch. I think the pattern writing leaves a lot to be desired. It’s just not very clear on a lot of things. But maybe that’s just me. And just maybe there’s an error in the cutting instructions. For the 2nd version, the gold sashing one, you create small 4 patches. I mean SMALL!! 1.5″ cut for .75″ finished. But there is a different way, to me, of constructing them, so cool. The next step is to add 4 HSTs to create a square in a square with the 4 patch. The pattern has you cut 144- 2″ squares in your background color for these to be cut into the HSTs. A 9 block layout with 4 of these SinS units per block means you need 2 X 4 units per block X 9 blocks = 72- 2″x2″ blocks. Did you see where they tell you to cut 144!!!
One of the first times I didn’t just make a sample block before cutting!!! But I thought, it’s such a small project. Oh well, it’s not like I don’t have use for 2” square background pieces. Plus, due to my own stupid mistake, I over cut the 2″ sqs for the 4 patches, so actually, I just might have to come up with a project to use up the 72 extra background sqs with the 54 extra print sqs!
OK, enough talk, here’s a few of the bocks in action!
