That would be a no! Or a half FO? It’s a flimsy, so does that count as FO or NO? Today’s project is my May OMG. And I reached my goal!!!! Granted, the goal was just to get Titch pieced, so it was easy. NOT. Do you realized how small some of those pieces are?!!! The 4 patches start as 2″ squares that are sewn together a la this tutorial, and end up 1.5″ unfinished! This method makes for a better 4 patch when you are sewing small units. I couldn’t imagine sewing 1″ squares together with any accuracy.
This was the fabric pull I planned to use, except for the light print above the grays. It just didn’t go. The top print, the lovely gold with gray and pinks, was the inspiration for this pull. I bought a FQ at a quilt show and then found it on clearance and bought another yard for stashing. I only ended up using it for the block centers, so now I have lots to use for another project!!!
I do wish I had thought out the size before I started cutting, I might have then made it bigger, but, it’s done, not going back! At 19″, I am still the Queen of the small wallhangings!! LOL. Looks like I am not planning on giving up that title any time soon. And with a small quilt size, the blocks are prone to being small. Who knew? These blocks finish at 4.5″. Oh my! What did I get myself into. Each block ends up with 41 pieces by the time you sew, cut, sew, cut, and sew some more. By the last block I was down to about 25 minutes per block!
And now it gets set aside until I return from Colorado and decide when it gets to be quilted. With 9 other items in line before this, who knows when it will see a needle and thread!
So, how’s your Friday going?
