Friday FO/NO

It’s a FO!!!

For the trip to Colorado I took this luscious ball of Malabrigo Sock to make Willow. I cast on the cowl on Tuesday and finished it up Thursday morning. So glad I could finish it in time to gift to my hostess! As I was knitting on it she commented on how lovely the color was. Yes! I knew I chose well when I bought the yarn at Village Yarn Company. I already knew Leigh loved blue, but sometimes blue can mean a wide variety of shades.

I dithered over which cowl to make, Willow or Star Shower, but in the end went with Willow. Star Shower doesn’t fit close to the neck, and for chilly Colorado at 9200 ft, you need something to keep the neck warm! When I let on that the cowl was for her Leigh squealed with delight! Isn’t it wonderful to have your knit items appreciated? She immediately put it on and wore it around the camper.

Before leaving for home on Thursday we visited her friend’s house and made pottery!! I love throwing pottery! Or whatever they call it nowadays. I made 2 bowls, imperfect and all, but I so enjoyed myself. I haven’t done that since 8th grade. Brings back memories.

Patty is going to glaze them and I will get them when we head back out there in September. Can’t wait! In return I am making her a duplicate of my Star Shower Cowl. Same yarn and color.

I will leave you with some more photos. I love this place!!! Now, if only I didn’t have to ride in a car going around hair pin turns and cliff hanging edges to get there!!

So, how’s your Friday going?

Hi Chris! You are very multi-talented. If I threw pottery . . . well, let’s just say it wouldn’t look all that nice. Yours bowls look fabulous! I would proudly use them, and can’t wait to see how the colors turn out after glazing. How fun! ~smile~ Roseanne

Beautiful finished cowl. Those blues are gorgeous. Enjoy your home time. It’s always nice to sleep in one’s bed after being away for a bit. Happy stitching too.

I adore the color of that yarn! Since I don’t knit, I have no idea what I’d do with it, but I want it! LOL That is a beautiful location, and I’d love to visit it, too.

I am not usually a blue person, but these shades are beautiful! Blue, green, purple, olive. I think I have enough to get a baby hat out of the remainder, but I might carry it with another yarn to get to a worsted weight. > >
