Scrap Happy

Are you ScrapHAPPY? I am!

For the past 6 months I have been taking part in a BOM through a private FB group. Each month the designer would post instructions for the blocks and I was really good at getting them done within the week. Which is not par for the course with me! I have been very diligent in keeping up with this BOM, unlike others. LOL So now we are done making blocks and waiting for the layout reveal next month. I just wonder what it will be.

Here are the blocks all done.

Here’s some possible layouts?

Much prefer this one, with scrappy background blocks between them.
I would do the set-in triangles down the sides with the colors.

Not thrilled with this one as it all looks jumbled.
I would likely separate them with sashing and cornerstones.

All of the fabrics used in these blocks is from stash. And I still have a ton of the fabrics left over! Hmm, maybe I should keep making small blocks and go for a larger size? Just do 6 little blocks each month until Dec? I would probably have to introduce more background fabrics, since I doubt I have enough for a bigger  size. Or maybe use a different piece for the all the on-point squares? The mind is awhirl!!!

Of course I had to play around in EQMini!!!
I can’t decide!!

So, what’s your ScrapHAPPY for the month?

Hi Chris! I love when you try all the different layouts and share them with us. I have a favorite but I can’t wait to see what you select. ~smile~ Roseanne

What size are your little blocks? I think that would affect my decision-making process a lot. It looks like a fun scrappy project – do make sure you let the other ScrapHappy participants see the finished thing when it’s done.

However you arrange the blocks, they are going to be great. The QAL leader may have other ideas, too, but I like yours so far. I like the on point and alternating blocks, and what a great border! More blocks would be fun, too. Would you use the same six designs, or choose some others to match them?

It’s hard to keep up with BOMs sometimes. Congrats on managing it with this one. I like the blocks set on point. That also makes for a bigger quilt in the end.

Your blocks are gorgeous! I like the one with them set on point with background blocks between – agree they are too busy just up against each other. Use of a little neutral space lets them shine 🙂

Cat got your tongue?
