Thursday again? Time is flying

It just seems the older I get the quicker time passes. Or is it really just that life doesn’t have very defined time frames. When I was younger I had defined summer and school year. Well actually, that was a big chunk of my life from age 5-22! And then when I graduated it was defined by daily work schedule and not at work, with vacation and holidays being the time frames I lived for. So it always seemed like such a long time to those vacations/summers. Once my kids came along I fell into their school terms and summer vacations. But now that I am home alone* I don’t have “time frames”, so life seems to pass before I realize it’s gone. With nothing to mark time with, I seem to not notice as the days meld together. Am I the only one?

So, Friday I host a link party, a FINISHED object link party. What have I been doing the last few days? Trying to get said object FINIsHED! LOL And it’s a big one, so who knows if it will actually have the binding sewn down. Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday was for quilting, and I got the body done, but the border is for today. And I have no clue how I am doing the border, so don’t call or text cause I’ll be busy!!

Front and back before all the quilting was done

When I haven’t been quilting I have been knitting on a baby sweater. I just love this Ruby Red Bolero! I am using a DK yarn, sorry will not purchase from them again so I am not naming them, and it’s knitting up nicely. And obviously it is not Ruby Red! LOL. More Fruity Fuchsia? But it’s actually more purple than pink, so not sure what to call it. I am ready to work on fronts and back, so time to get cracking!

Hope your Thursday is all you plan it to be! I need to run my Fair entry list to the Fairgrounds and make sure I have all the items ready to go. Some things need hanging options, so I will be sewing rings to the backs and making sure any identifying info is covered. It’s a good thing I haven’t gotten around to putting labels on everything. And just maybe I can get that Baby Bolero done by Friday night?

time is the same for me – no kids home, hubby no longer working so no work schedule to follow there, I guess we are all foot loose and fancy free – no schedules to follow and time just flies

What a great way to define time flying as we age. I still work, :(. I love the design in the baby sweater, its going to be cute. I still need some knitted flying geese socks if you ever catch up with time. Thank you for linking up with me today.

Hi Chris! Your theory on why time passes so quickly without frames of reference sounds like a good one. Except that I still work in a school and think time is passing way, way, WAY too quickly. So, I’m going with the getting older theory. Time passes more quickly the older we get. Boom. HAHA! I’ll be back tomorrow, with nothing to show for it but will enjoy your finishes and the others. ~smile~ Roseanne

I like your theory much better than my son’s. He says when we’re little, say 6, a summer represents only one 24th of our lives. At my age, it’s a lot smaller fraction! So his theory is that it’s all relative. LOL For me, there’s still too much to do, a lot of which I don’t want to do, too many responsibilities, etc. I want to be foot loose and fancy free again!

LOL! My nephew refused to turn 6 one year. He wanted to stay 5 and enjoy all that life had. 6 meant he had to start going to school!! I want to be 5 again. No wait, then I wouldn’t be allowed to have a sewing machine. OK, I’ll just keep my 58! > >

I understand what you mean about time. Since retirement time is marked by events; not days of the week. Love the colors in your quilt! As for the yarn color on the baby bolero…., maybe cranberry? It really is pretty.
