Monday Magnificence

Is not so Magnificence today since I really don’t have much to share. Our weekend was taken up with watching BioGirl in her first ever ski tournament, she got 18 overall out of 43 girls. I think some of the girls are just on the team so they can hang out with guys/boyfriends in drunken revelry all weekend. BioGirl said the party didn’t end until 3:00 am on Saturday and the first guy’s run was at 8:00 am. I wonder how many of them were actually sober? LOL!

It was a good weekend to knit! A two hour car ride to and then back home, plus 9:00-4:00 tournament watching gave me a lot of knitting opportunity.  Diva’s showl is about 3/4 done! I will likely make 2 more sections of the lace before binding off. I am using 3 skeins of Berroco Cosma in this lovely gray. The yarn’s so soft!

But it was a bad weekend to sew. I did try to get going on my tote on Sunday, but all I did was cut out batting, lining and interfacing and get it all fused.

We are playing dog watchers this week while my sister cruises to Ireland. Oh how I wish I was with her!!! Well, not on a cruise, but in Ireland. I just get stuck with the dogs! Her bich-poo seems to be interested in my neck accessories. He somehow got my scarf on his back and then was too interested in being near the showl while I took a photo. I also did dog duty for our neighbor. While outside with Wrangler I was trying to get him to give up the bone. He won, LOL

I sent off some hand knit items and got a cute pic of the sisters I made these sweaters for I

I also received this sweet note from their mom. This is why we knit!!!

The little sister is the one she is referring to. How adorable!
I wish I could share the photo, but with the internet,
and the world, the way it is today, I am taking no chances.

So, what are you creating today? Today is guild for me, so off I go to be entertained with our speaker, LuAnn Krug, and the lovely show and tell shared by quilters.

You made the most of your on the road time and tournament watching time. So was snow skiing or water skiing?

Water skiing. She did good for only having been skiing for 2 years! LOL. > >

No wonder she didn’t want the sweater off! It is a beauty! The showl is superb!

Thanks! I love little kids and their focus on certain things. The showl is seeing lots of knitting time right now, it’s all I want to work on. > >

Adorable sweaters. And it’s so nice to know they are appreciated

Thanks, I love to knit for others, but I am likely to do more when the appreciation is there. > >

It sounds like a good weekend overall. Enjoy the bonus pup:)

It was, even with detours, messed up reservations, and all the waiting for ski runs! Thankfully the 1 extra pup was only for a day, the other 2 extra pups are for the next 7 days! They are the ones who have mistreated my upstairs. So now the upstairs is blocked until they leave. > >

Hi Chris! I just LOVE those sweaters! That color is beautiful – I can see why the new owner didn’t want to take it off. She was certainly stylin’. It sounds like Wrangler has the perfect name! ~smile~ Roseanne

So far so good on the dog sitting, no one has used my house for a bathroom!!! Knock on wood. Thanks! > >

Your new showl looks great, and the little sweaters are just adorable! Thanks also for sharing the puppy pics – they are pretty adorable too 🙂

Thanks! Just a bit more to go on the show and it is done! Then it’s on to designing another with a different lace structure. Puppies are always adorable! > >

My other niece told me yesterday that when I was at their house recently and she was picking up item after item that I had made for her kids, her daughter said after I left that I sure made them a lot of nice things. LOL! She is just now in kindergarten, so hasn’t a lot of memory of where all those hats, blankets, and quilts, came from.
