FNwF/Project Quilting 12

Each month on the 1st Friday we sew and then share our Friday night progress with everyone. Since last week was a Holiday the 1st Friday was delayed to last night. For my FNwF I decided to work on a new project. I saw a post about Project QUILTING 12.1 on Wendy’s blog Wednesday. I have never been interested in doing the PQ challenge, but this time I was all in. Even though I was late to the party!!! You see, the colors were Gray and Yellow! And I had those fabrics above pulled in that perfect combo. It was meant to be. But what to make?

Gray Scale beginning

This runner was the winner of my consideration and I think it was the perfect choice. I miscut, too much, so the final product is a little wonky, but that’s OK, I still love it. But it goes with NOTHING in my house! LOL. So I think it’s going to a niece.

To load it on Gigi I had to sew some strips to the backing sides, but it went fairly quickly once I got start. I knew that center would get some curves, but the rest was all straight lines.

Love the look from the back, even though my traveling needs a lot of work.

Angles are tricky with binding, but this excellent video explains how to handle them.

And now it’s ready to go to its new home!

Go check out what other Friends were working on during FNwF!

  1. Love, love, LOVE how this turned out, Chris! That center starter block looks so cool – that gray seems to change shades – and the flying geese are just the perfect addition. Nice job quilting – it looks fab on the back as well as the front. Your niece will be tickled pink to receive it. ~smile~ Roseanne

  2. Hello Chris,
That’s a really pretty runner, and beautiful quilting.. I’m sure your niece will love it. I’ve always really liked grey and yellow together, but it just wouldn’t work in our house either.
Thank you for linking up with Free Motion Mavericks,
    Love, Muv
