Here we are, on the eve of Thanksgiving, and of course everyone thinks about what they are thankful for. Giving thanks is something I try to do everyday, but I fail often. But you know this week I have been saying Thanks! as much as possible. So thankful that Diva was able to deliver a healthy baby! And what a precious one she is. I wish I could share photos, but we are following Diva’s wishes and keeping her name/image safe. Just imagine the most perfect baby there is! LOL!
She arrived on her Dad’s birthday, while a movie was on TV that has a car bearing EC’s name. When we saw the movie was on we found the channel and watched leading up to her delivery. At 6:15 I told Diva to get a move on because the movie only had 45 more minutes to go. While the car was doing the chase scene EC arrived. It was fate!
We expected she would come home on Sunday, but she ended up jaundiced, so she had to spend the night sunbathing. I am not surprised, Diva had to return to the hospital 6 out of 7 days following birth. But the time we’d gone back 4-5 times they were running out of places to stick her foot to draw blood.
Now they are home and settling in as a family. And I sit here so thankful for being able to be present when she was born and for having snuggles with her over the last few days. So thankful I will be able to watch her grow as I will be her daycare when Diva goes back to work. I will probably be a very tired G!! Sewing may take a back seat, so it’s a good thing I will have knitting to fill the time when she is sleeping.
In between baby snuggles I was able to finish some items. More burp cloths for the baby and a charity baby quilt for Tummy Time.
I used a star panto for the quilting. I am hoping the pops of white will stimulate the baby’s brain. Contrast is the best visual for babies! I used the oval dot fabric in the upper left corner on the close up for the back and binding.
And now to all a Happy Thanksgiving!!!!
