Welcome to TGIFF! And boy am I Thankful it’s Friday!!
I hope you’ll join me in linking up your finished, and unfinished projects. Fiber kind or not, we want to see your finishes. Here’s my offering, 2 for the price of 1!
Last year I asked my girls what table runners they might want me to make for them. I showed them ones I’ve made in the past and they chose 4 of the same and SG picked 1 additional one.
They also chose a Patriotic runner and you would think I would have gotten those done in time for the summer holidays, but I failed. I finally started them in September at the guild retreat I attended. I pieced the 2 Fall Leaves and the 2 Wonky Patriotic tops.
SG likes blue, so I used blue sashing on hers. To conserve fabric I switched to red for Diva’s.
The pattern is called Wonky 9 Patch and I made my version several years ago. I had no idea of color placement, so was not as happy with the distribution of colors once you cut and resewed the 9 patch.
To avoid a repeat of that issue I pre-planned the color placement with the help of my EQ8 program, I could chart out what would happen when I placed the fabrics in the 9 patch and then cut it up. My intention was to make the pinwheel in the center Pop! And I think I succeeded. Here are some of the blocks.
I used the same fabrics in both, just changed up the sashing to keep them unique to each girl.
I am happy they only languished in the TBQ pile for a month before I got them quilted. I used a stars and stripe panto from my fav place.
I just love that background/backing fabric!!
They are ready for the next patriotic Holiday!
And now it’s your turn to share your Friday Finish with us! Link up and then be sure to drop in and visit all the participants.
