FNwF

It’s that time again! Friday Night with Friends. Thanks to Cheryl for hosting this each month! Here’s what I am working on, what about you?

This weekend is killer for us, Grad party for Diva on Saturday night, and then a Mother’s Day brunch on Sunday morning, all at our house. So cleaning has to happen this week!!! I hate cleaning. I would prefer to just work on my projects! LOL. Here’s what I am working on during FNwF.

I asked Diva what quilt she would like as a wedding gift. I showed her some patterns and also a project I already had in the works. She choose the project in progress! Yay for me! The one she decided on is Willow QAL March 2020. At this time I was doing 4 sew alongs. Oy!, what was I thinking? I just need to decide which version to go with, and then look for a good border fabric. I don’t have enough of what I wanted to use.

This week I have been working on getting the last blocks, the sashing cornerstones, made. At 3″ finished, they are a bit fiddly. I needed 24 and was able to get them all  done. Now to sash all the blocks and join it all together. I still need to find a border fabric since the one I was hoping to use isn’t going to cover my yardage needs.

I need it done by July 24th, so time’s a wasting. Off I go to get some sewing done before the party tonight. Good thing we are just ordering pizza, cause I have 25 blocks, 24 cornerstones, 4 corner triangles, and and 64 sashing pieces to put together!

How did your Friday night go?

  1. I had a no-sew Friday, with lots of yard work instead. So nice when giftee people cooperate with UFOs, the Willow quilt will be done in no time.

  2. Hi Chris! This is a beautiful quilt. Not only will it make for a lovely wedding gift that your DD loves but it will also finish off a UFO, too. Firmly in the WIN column for you. ~smile~ Roseanne

  3. You’ve got a full weekend for sure! The Willow pattern looks pretty. Are those two different layouts? I’m going to see if I can get my big ol’ surgery boot on the foot control and get some sewing done today – lol! Have fun with your brunch, and Happy Mother’s Day!
