To-Do Tuesday

Let’s Party!

Last Week:

  1. More quilting on Let Freedom Ring /
  2. Piece Baby EC’s top X
  3. Finish prepping an appliqué top X
  4. Finish EC’s knit dress /
  5. Extra: Charity baby top √

This Week:

  1. Nothing

I will not be accomplishing more than keeping my Dad alive as he deals with release from rehab, a C. Diff infection, and a possible exposure to the Crazy-0vi-disease. My Mom has an upper respiratory infection, started a Z-pack last night, so she is headed north with my sister to remove her from the soon to be contaminated house my Dad will occupy. And I will try my damndest to not come down with C Diff. I will be away from my husband, pups, home and studio until Sept 4th or 5th. I just hope I don’t run out of things to knit!

  1. First, the photo of your quilt block — gorgeous piecing and quilting. I love it! Second — my thoughts and prayers will be with you and your family. It sounds like you have a challenging week ahead of you, and your parents are so blessed to have you looking out for them like this. May you all stay healthy and safe, and may your yarn supply last as long as the lamp oil from the Hanukkah story!

  2. Hoping your next few weeks are better every day! That your Dad improves and that you remain infection free. Glad you have knitting to occupy the time. {{Hugs}}

  3. OH NO, Chris!!!! Seriously. Just when you thought it might be settling down . . . {{hugs}}, {{Hugs}}, and more {{{HUGS}}} for you. I’m stepping up my prayers. Thank heavens your sister can take your Mom out of danger. Be careful, stay safe and healthy, don’t worry about blogging, and write if you need to vent! Holy moly. ~smile~ Roseanne

  4. Oh, Chris, I’m so sorry! You are making the right choice–your Dad needs help and it’s smart to keep Mom with her own territory!
Knitting and a quilt magazine for the down time but you will be pretty busy taking care of your Dad! hugs. prayers.

  5. Sending as many healing thoughts and prayers for a great, quick recovery for both of your parents. Stay safe and well Chris. At least you can knit to keep yourself calm and sane.

  6. OH Chris, just did not hear about your Dad’s issues until this morning. Are you saying he has Chinese Virus Variant? There are so many infections that the sick pick up from the hospital. I feel for you and will say a prayer that things get better for your Father and your Mother, but will say a special prayer for you the Caregiver. Caregivers need the prayers. I pray that this time in your life gets better quickly. Keep us posted. Take care. Hugs

    1. > Thankfully no, it’s an intestinal infection that is highly contagious. I don’t even know how much visiting I will be allowed, just waiting to get him transferred at this point. Thank you. >

  7. Hello Chris! I’m sorry for the late link up…was taking care of Mom and Dad. I tried to add your link to my post on blogger, but some reason, Blogger won’t let me see my drafts! Goodness gracious!
Your quilting is lovely! Also, I really like how your photos are on a cycle! Nice job!

  8. Don’t worry about not getting to people’s comments last week, family always takes priority. I’m glad your covid isn’t severe and your parents are being taken care of . Take care of yourself.

    1. Thank you Gretchen, unfortunately my vaccinated Mom is the one who gave it to me. She ended up in the hospital. I’ve been riding it out isolated from my entire family. While also trying to deal with caring for my Dad who is in an after care facility. It’s been a hard week, but things will resolve.
