In: I caved, and very early on (Jan 2nd), but the fabric just got here this week. Since I am doing table runners for the girls throughout the coming year I needed to grab some red/cream for their Valentine runners. I was able to get 2 of these from different Etsy shops at good prices. And I bought a pattern to make hanging pods for Squish’s Hook Shelf her Jeep (short for GP-Grandpa/Hubster) made.

Out: I’ve been quilting a top, so not much fabric out, just 2 key fobs.

This weekend was different. We met for my birthday dinner, Happy Birthday to me today, on Friday night and ended up bringing a Squish home!!! She spent the night so Mom and Dad could get some sleep. And G and Jeep got NO sleep! She is a noisy little bit of nothing. LOL She squeaked and gulped, and cooed and wiggled all night long. At least until 5:00 am when I just put her in bed with me because Jeep went to sleep on the couch. 🤪 She definitely prefers to be sleeping near a warm body.
So Saturday when I should have been quilting, I was recovering or holding a still sleeping baby. But I don’t regret one bit of it. And I will do it again and again!
Of course you will! You are Grandma!!!!
The priorities shift when grands are around!
Absolutely!!

Happy Birthday Christ! Funny how important sleep was to us when ours were little, and what little importance we place on it with the grands! They definitely like the warm body near them. 🙂
Absolutely! And my birthday is awesome, picking ip my present, a glider rocker for rocking baby!!
>
Ahhh, what a beautiful time you had with your Squish! I’ve made those key fobs and loved them. They are so handy!
Thanks Mia. I figure I can make up for lost sleep! Yes, I don’t lose my keys quite as much with the fobs on them! 🤣

Happy birthday! I hope the year ahead will be full of joy and baby cuddles.
Thank you Vireya, Me too!! > >
I do miss those days of having a sleeping baby to hold. But the grandkids are just a different kind of fun as they get bigger and older. Enjoy!!!!
I hope to enjoy all the stages, but oh these cuddles are the best!!! Thanks > >
Happy Happy Birthday, Chris!!! I remember because it’s also Bart Starr’s BD today. {{Hugs}} Babies are really noisy!! Especially to new parents who aren’t used to all of them yet, and the Gs who may have forgotten. Isn’t it just the BEST holding a sleeping baby?! They’re so nice and warm and you get a chance to study just how perfect and amazing they are. {{Hugs}} I know you will certainly do it again and again, and I’ll bet Mom and Dad really appreciated the uninterrupted sleep. ~smile~ Roseanne
> Yes, it is!! And that’s a fact I learned when I was actually 9 on the 9th! I got a book on my favorite football player at the book fair, and when I read the first sentence and found out we shared a birthday, I was over the moon!!! And then when I was in my 30’s I found out my fav NASCAR driver shared the day too!!! Plus, my niece’s fiance, my cousin’s wife and a knitting buddy! It’s the best day for a birthday! LOL Got more sleeping baby snuggles today! And G organized her nursery closet. >
Happy birthday! I’m so happy for you and the baby (well, a sleeping baby is a good thing, no?) to be together! Have a restful day, recovering from the night ;))
Thanks for sharing your pretty projects, and linking up!
Thanks Frédérique, we had a lazy day and then I got more snuggles on Sunday and today!!
So glad you got some time with Squish!
Me too!!! > >
Hope you enjoyed your birthday. Enjoy it while they are young. It seems to go too fast.
Thank you, I am wringing every ounce of baby snuggles I can! > >
